The Epiphany Alloy is perfect for ripping down fast trails with sweeping, long radius corners because it pedals so well. It’s not so secret that it also excels on mumbly jumbly fall-line descents. It’s a do-it-all trail bike with a great suspension and a no-nonsense, Made-in-America attitude. The Epiphany Alloy frame with a slack 66.5 degree head tube angle is fabricated, anodized, and laser etched right here in the USA with a US made and drawn seamless tubeset.
The ACTIVE Energy Efficient Suspension is the benchmark four-bar linkage design against which all others are judged. It successfully isolates pedal and braking forces from bump input through careful placement and movement of the instant center as it tracks the chain force line throughout the travel range. Paired with the custom-tuned Fox DPS rear shock, ACTIVE delivers incredible traction and control throughout the 140mm of rear suspension travel. You’ll ride with more confidence and comfort, and you’ll know that every ounce of your energy goes into forward motion as you blast down your favorite rocky trail.
The Epiphany Alloy employs a tapered head tube to ensure strength and stability for your steering system. It takes a high-direct mount front derailleur, a 30.9mm seatpost, a 73mm English threaded bottom bracket, and a Boost 12x148mm thru-axle rear hub. The frameset comes with a Cane Creek 1-1/8 – 1-1/2â€ semi-integrated headset and a Hex Taper 12x148mm rear thru-axle. It is recommended for use with a 150mm front suspension fork.

Masters of the craft
Some aficionados might tell you the key to a great bicycle is the material from which it’s made: carbon, aluminum, titanium, steel, etc. At Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles, we believe it’s not the material that is the most important, but what is done with it. We call this Material Management. We manage every material we use from its raw form to the finished product. We employ high modulus carbon fiber and aerospace aluminum alloys, and by exploiting each material’s unique strengths we create some of the most technologically advanced bicycle frames on the planet. What we’re even more proud of is that we’re helping to create your next great ride experience.
Ellsworth Aluminum bike frames provide all the excitement, function, and efficiency of our carbon fiber frames, but at a lower cost. We’re still making these in the USA, and we’re proud of it. Prior to being welded, each frame tube is milled by hand for a perfect, gap-free alignment with the other tubes as the frame is assembled in the jig. These tight joints ensure that the frames can be welded to perfection for maximum strength, stiffness, and durability. All of our aluminum frames are anodized to show off the flawless craftsmanship and to protect the aluminum alloy from corrosion, inside and out. Like our carbon production, you can be sure that our aluminum frames are made with the same social and environmental stewardship, and that are manufacturing practices minimize waste and raw material usage.
Torque tube pivot
The Ellsworth Torque Tube Pivots ensure absolute stiffness and durability. The system utilizes oversize dual row angular contact sealed cartridge bearings. These full complement bearings were originally designed for military applications and were only recently declassified. What they offer is maximum load bearing capacity as well as the ability to fine-tune the preload to eliminate axial and radial play. Each bearing rotates on hollow 7075 pivot pins. They are custom made for each Ellsworth application and are smooth-shouldered for a perfect fit inside the inner race of the bearings. All of these factors make our Torque Tube Pivots the stiffest, most advanced pivot system in the industry.
The Ellsworth Rocker Locker replaces traditional shock eye hardware with a custom machined 7075 pivot pin. This shock pin is a small piece, but it plays a big role in making our rear suspension perform as well as it does. It employs an oval shape on both ends that interfaces with a corresponding oval socket in the rocker to effectively lock the two rocker plates together for extreme torsional stiffness. Its hardened surface glides through durable, IGUS bushings in the shock eye for a stiction-free assembly.
